Chioma Onyenucheya-Uko is a legal practitioner called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2008.
She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, where she currently serves as the Vice Chair, NBA Abuja Branch and the Chair of the branch’s Human Rights Committee. She is also a committed member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), where she is the immediate past Public Relations Officer of FIDA Nigeria, Abuja Branch.
Chioma is a people’s enthusiast with a deep bias for young people and women.
Her belief in the vital efficacy of mentoring and motivation is fueled by the testimonies in her own life for which she is dedicated to creating opportunities towards replicating the like in young persons and women who may otherwise end up as life’s casualties.
She encourages young people and women to seek and create environments where they can optimally cultivate and enjoy a life of excellence and fulfillment.
She is strongly drawn to anchoring or participating in programs and activities that target and address family and relationship issues especially as they affect young people and women. Such will feature in specially tailored podcasts, talk shows, retreats, conferences, tours, mentoring and counselling sessions and more.
Clearly, women and youths are at the core of her interventions and remain her target focus. However, Chioma recognizes the connection that men have to the well-being of this demographic and the realization of a wholesome society for all, so on occasions, she speaks to their peculiar needs too.
Without a doubt, important aspects of societal development are threatened when young people and women are hampered from actualizing and indeed maximizing potentials. Being a family lawyer who has seen avoidable legal issues and consequences arising from domestic relationships, she is persuaded to contribute her bit for the good of the society, which unarguably is a reflection of the families that make same up.
Chioma Onyenucheya-Uko, a qualified mediator and arbitrator, is also a conversationalist and gender rights advocate. The other activities that make her come alive are public speaking and compering events. And yes, she’s also a terrific dancer!😉
